Since 2005, the Environmental Stewards program has trained over 1400 volunteers. Steward volunteers have:
- completed 333 projects with over 100 partnership organizations including many helping to reduce the impact of climate change.
- engaged in 41,600 hours of environmental service across the state.
- contributed $1,527,000 in conservation value and impact to partnership projects.
- enhanced or created 184 habitat sites through natural resource activities.
- delivered educational programming to nearly 21,000 community members.

Awards
The program has received the following national and state awards:
- 2022- The Rutgers Cooperative Extension “Best of the Best Team Award” for the Earth Day, Every Day Program
- 2022- The Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals, Silver Award for Newsletter/ Series of Articles. “The Rutgers Earth Day/ Every Day E-News Blast”.
- 2017 – The National Association of County Agricultural Agents, Search for Excellence in Environmental Quality, Forestry, and Natural Resources Award.
- 2007 – Governor’s Environmental Excellence Achievement Award for Environmental Education.
