Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station [Rutgers Environmental Stewards]

Raritan Highlands Compact- Rain Gardens Project

The Raritan Highlands Compact hopes to have at least three more rain gardens installed in spring 2008 and would love to have an environmental steward take a leadership role in coordinating the effort.  The position would involve the following tasks:

·         assist in site identification,
·         coordinate with Rutgers (Greg Rusciano is assisting with design)
·         help identify local volunteers
·         coordinate site work and planting
·         order plants and materials
·         assist Ex. Dir. in planning a summer workshop for local officials on rain gardens.

The (volunteer) position would start in February and work should be completed by mid-may.  It would require 2-4 hours per week and the person could work from home or in the Compact's Chester Township office.
