Project Description:
1) Provide environmental information to visitors to the Nature Center of the Atlantic County Park in Estell Manor, on a pre-established schedule. Volunteer would work with the Park System's volunteer coordinator to establish a schedule when volunteer would be available (preferably 1-4 hours weekly, on a Saturday or Sunday) to assist park visitors with interpretation of displays in the nature center, answer questions about environmental processes and systems, and act as a resource for environmental issues. Volunteer coordinator would advertise the volunteer's schedule via the park's program brochure, website, and press releases.

Anticipated Outcome: A) Advertising the Steward's availability will increase visitation to the Nature Center. B) Information will enhance appreciation of natural resources. Who Benefits: Patrons to the park system benefit by attaining knowledge about environmental systems. The Park System benefits by increasing visitation to, and appreciation of the Park. 2) Deliver environmental education programs to groups. Volunteer would deliver a pre-packaged lecture/demonstration EE program to requesting school and civic groups using equipment, displays, and materials provided by the Park System. Volunteer coordinator would act as liaison to schedule groups and reserve facility. Anticipated Outcome: A) Groups would have the opportunity to learn about the environment from a hands-on experience, which will enhance appreciation of natural resources.

The Park System benefits by increasing visitation to, and appreciation of the Park. 3) Reforestation Volunteer would coordinate the planting, watering and establishment of XXX# of tree seedlings within the Atlantic County Park in Estell Manor. Volunteer would plan & map locations, recruiting other volunteers as necessary, to plant, water and maintain trees for x amount of time.

Anticipated Outcome: Forest areas devastated by insects and weather events would be helped to recover.
